How To Plan An E-bike Camping Trip

Camping is considered one of the perfect ways to spend time with nature either alone or with friends and family. The closer you get to nature, the more lively you feel. However, to reach the camping spots, people usually prefer cars or campervans, but some love planning a camping trip on an E-bike, as they can reach the spot which is out of reach for cars and vans.

But most of you might be wondering what exactly an E-bike is. It’s pretty much the same as an ordinary bike but also has an electric motor attached to it which allows you to travel much further with minimal effort. An E-bike is much more efficient when it comes to managing the load and carrying the equipment. Yet, here are some tips you need to follow to plan an E-bike camping trip.

E-bike Camping Trip

Destination and Environment

One of the first things to decide is certainly a destination. You can choose the spot you love but you need to make sure that it is nearer to a populous area. You just can’t take the risk of going into the middle of nowhere as unfortunate events can take place and you might need to get to a populous region as soon as possible, it can be issues related to food, health, and whatnot.

Moving on, study the environment of the place you are visiting, what’s the weather like? Do you need to keep a rain jacket or anything like that depending on the environment you have chosen? Are there any animal attacks in that region in the past few weeks or months? Make sure you are equipped with such information and you’ll be pretty confident about your trip.

E-bike range and the distance

Once you have planned your destination, the next step is to look for the perfect route. If you are planning to campaign in a mountainous area, it is necessary to keep in mind the terrain, especially if you are new. It is suggested to take along with you a pro who can guide you on your first E-bike camping trip.

Moreover, you also need to check the range of your E-bike, as they are powered by Li-ion batteries that have a certain range. However, it isn’t an issue if the terrain is not too much. Yet, you need to check all terrain electric bikes to choose the best one for yourself, as you can’t compromise on the quality of your bike.

Bike Weight Limit

Going on a camping trip and not analyzing the bike storage is a common mistake people make while planning their trip. They either overload the bike or underestimate it. However, you must understand the weight restriction as it is critical, you can check the bike’s weight limit alone while pulling a trailer. Make sure your E-bike is built to carry camping equipment such as handy cooking accessories, sleeping bags, and much more.

Tire Selection

Tire selection completely depends on the location you have chosen to camp, if you plan to go in the vastness of mountains, you need to have an E-bike with fat tires they are remarkable in managing the jumps, and they are made to handle tough terrain than slim tires which are no doubt a bit faster on simple plain roads. When you think of mountain biking to reach the campsite, it is all about enjoying your journey, if you want your journey to be comfortable while you catch some fresh air, tires with a better width might be a good option. Usually all terrain electric bikes come with fat tires.

Moving on, you need to check if there is any noise coming from your E-bike, if it’s having an issue, it will make a noise, but if it’s silent, then you are ready to go. As you want your trip to be peaceful, there is no point in taking a bike that has noise or any problem, as you are already trying to escape the noise of the city and want a place with peace and silence, don’t you?

Packing and Safety

Once you are done planning your trip, make sure you have some food items with you, energy drinks, or whatever that you think is important to keep you going from the areas where you won’t be able to find some. Moreover, it is important to keep a mini first aid kit just for safety.

Conclusion

In this 21st century, we are experiencing numerous adversities caused by climate change and pollution. However, it is our duty to shift back to environmentally friendly practices and reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible to keep the air clean and breathable for us and the coming generations. Riding an E-bike is one of the finest ways to make yourself and the planet much more healthier. The benefits of an E-bike are tremendous.
